From La Italiana to Malía
Malía isn't new. It is the evolution of La Italiana Estepona, the gelateria that opened in 1999 on Plaza Doctor Arce. More than twenty-five years making people feel on holiday — even the ones who live here.
La Italiana opens
An Italian gelateria on Plaza Doctor Arce. Gelato made fresh daily, coffee, breakfasts. Over the years it becomes the old town's fixture: the place for ice-cream sundaes and the terrace by the fountain.
Malía is born
Same place, same soul, a new name. Malía — malìa in Italian: a spell, a fascination, something that draws you in. It gathers what this place already was and adds what it lacked: coffee and breakfast in the morning, cucina and panini at midday, pizza and panuozzo at night — and gelato at any hour.
